Girls are called in the night… now the physio of the wrestlers has made serious allegations against Brijbhushan Singh

New Delhi. The allegations of sexual harassment leveled by the wrestlers sitting on the dharna against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh seem to be gaining new strength. Now in the year 2014, physiotherapist Paramjit Malik, present in the national camp organized in Lucknow, has made serious allegations against Singh. According to Malik, at least 3 junior women wrestlers at that national camp allegedly told him that they were ‘asked to meet Brij Bhushan at night’ and the kind of pressure they faced for the same.

According to the English newspaper The Indian Express, physiotherapist Paramjeet Malik, who participated in the wrestlers’ protest at Jantar Mantar, said that the girls were in tears while telling senior wrestlers about their condition. According to Paramjit, he had informed the then women’s coach Kuldeep Malik about this, but no action was taken.

Paramjeet said that he had appeared twice in February before the monitoring committee set up by the Sports Ministry to look into the allegations against Brij Bhushan. He said that he had also told the committee about this incident of 2014.

Recalling the 2014 camp, Paramjit Malik claimed that he saw “three to four” cadet wrestlers walking out of the camp at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) center in Lucknow. He told, ‘These girls were leaving after 10 pm. I saw that the people who had come to pick him up in vehicles were people associated with Brij Bhushan, including his driver. Later the girls confirmed what was happening to them.

Paramjeet told, ‘The girls told us that they were asked to meet Brij Bhushan at night and were pressurized for this. At that time there were at least three girls who talked about this to senior wrestlers. I was watching these cadet wrestlers crying while narrating their ordeal.

During the dharna at Jantar Mantar, a wrestler has also confirmed these allegations of Paramjit. This wrestler, who attended the Lucknow camp in 2014, said that these allegations should also be investigated.

At the same time, according to the newspaper, it tried several times to get the reaction of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Kuldeep Malik in this regard, but could not contact them. By the way, Brij Bhushan has earlier denied all these allegations and said that they are part of a conspiracy against him.
