Glenn Maxwell came out in support of David Warner, said T20 world cup Glenn Maxwell saus Doubting David Warner an absolute no-no

After being dismissed without opener David Warner in Australia’s practice match against New Zealand, his teammate Glenn Maxwell has said that it would be a mistake to underestimate Warner. Warner’s form is becoming a cause of concern for the Australian team. It is noteworthy that in the first phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Warner was removed from the captaincy of Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the second phase also he got a chance to play only two matches, in which he scored two runs in total. His poor form in the first practice match did not stop him and he was dismissed on the very first ball of Tim Southee.

Maxwell said about Warner’s form that he is a great player and very soon he will bat well. Maxwell said, ‘If you ever doubt Davy (Warner), it’s not quite right. We all know they will be back very soon. He is a superstar of all three formats. He has scored a lot of runs. Unfortunately yesterday a wonderful catch from Martin Guptill kept him running.

Maxwell further said, ‘Such things happen in cricket, especially when you are in poor form. You get out unfortunately, but Warner will be back in good form in the main phase of the tournament starting on 23rd October. It doesn’t matter how they perform in the practice match. Maxwell, who performed brilliantly in the IPL, was rested in the practice match played against New Zealand. Many people believe that he will prove to be an important player for Australia during this World Cup. But Maxwell is supporting another Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh.
