Glenn Maxwell, desperate to return to Test cricket, has played just 7 matches so far

One of the finest all-rounder in the ODI and T20I formats, Glenn Maxwell is eager to make a comeback in his Test career. Maxwell was part of the Australian team in the 2015 World Cup, last year’s T20 World Cup. Maxwell now wants to return to the red ball format i.e. Test cricket, showing his tendency towards Test cricket in his career. Maxwell is expected to return for the Test series between India and Australia early next year.

Couldn’t do anything special in Test cricket
Maxwell made his Test debut in 2013 against India. After that he has played only 6 Test matches in his career so far. Maxwell was included in the Australian team in place of Travis Head for the Test series against Sri Lanka last month. But Travis recovered prematurely and due to which Maxwell was left out of the playing XI. After this issue, Maxwell is eager to make a comeback in his Test career and is looking for opportunities.
Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, Maxwell said that he wishes to return to Test cricket soon after missing out on the Test against Sri Lanka. He is eyeing the Test series against India to be held early next year.

Can get chance in Test against India
After missing out on Sri Lanka, Maxwell is hopeful from the team management that he will get a chance in the upcoming series. With Travis not performing well in the match, Maxwell may be given a chance in the team selection against India. Maxwell has played all 7 Test matches of his career in Asia. The experience of playing Indian spinners Jadeja and Ashwin strengthens their selection in the team. Maxwell is hopeful that he can make a better comeback in his Test career with the Test series against India next year.
