New Delhi. While the Indian cricket team is doing two hands each in the Edgbaston Test against England, on the other hand a team led by Dinesh Karthik is showing its strength in T20. Team India is playing a warm-up match before the 3 T20 series against England. In this episode, India’s second warm-up match on Sunday met with Northamptonshire. Despite making a small score, the Indian team won this match by 10 runs. Harshal Patel played an important role in India’s victory. He made a splash with the bat first and then showed amazing with the ball. Harshal played an innings of 54 runs in 36 balls and after that also took two wickets. Earlier, India also won the first warm-up match against Derbyshire.
In the match against India, Northamptonshire won the toss and decided to bowl first. Big batsmen like Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav failed. Samson was the golden duck. He was dismissed by Cobb on the very first ball of the match. After this Rahul Tripathi and Suryakumar Yadav were also dismissed cheaply. India had lost three wickets on the score of 8 runs. After this, captain Dinesh Karthik, along with Ishan Kishan, added 43 runs for the fourth wicket. But, Ishan was also out on the score by 51 runs. After this Karthik also returned to the pavilion. Half of India’s team was out for 72 runs.
Harshal Patel’s double performance
After this Harshal Patel showed his strength with the bat. He scored 54 runs in just 36 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. He got the support of Venkatesh Iyer from the other end. Both took India’s score to 149 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. After the flop show of the batsmen, now all the responsibility of victory was on the bowlers and they came true to it.
The Indian bowlers also stunned the Northamptonshire batsmen from the very first over and returned half the team to the pavilion on the score of 54 runs. After this the team of Northamptonshire tried hard to come back. But, the Indian bowlers kept the screws tight till the end and in 19.3 overs, Northamptonshire were all out for 139 runs. For India, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2-2 wickets.
