New Delhi. In IPL (IPL 2021), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star bowler Harshal Patel has a chance to create history. Patel has so far taken 29 wickets in 13 matches in the 14th season of IPL. RCB’s team has reached the playoff and the team has to play at least 2 more matches. In such a situation, Patel has a chance to become the highest wicket-taker in a season of IPL. Patel is close to leaving behind Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and Delhi Capitals pacer Kagiso Rabada.
Bravo’s name for taking most wickets in a season
Dwayne Bravo took 32 wickets in 18 matches while playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2013. That year Mumbai Indians also became the IPL champion. Apart from this, in IPL 2020, Kagiso Rabada played an important role in taking Delhi Capitals to the final by taking 30 wickets in 17 matches. Only here in the IPL, both the bowlers have been able to touch the 30-wicket mark. Today RCB is against Delhi Capitals and after Bravo-Rabada Patel can also join their club.
Patel has overtaken Bumrah-Bhuveshwar
Patel is the highest wicket-taker Indian bowler in IPL history. Earlier this record was in the name of Bumrah who took a total of 27 wickets in the last season. At the same time, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a total of 26 wickets in the 2017 season. Patel has so far taken 75 wickets in 61 matches of IPL.
Kohli again expressed the opportunity on Patel
Patel made his IPL debut for RCB in the year 2012. He was associated with the team with IPL 2017. During this, RCB took 34 wickets in 36 matches. However, in 2018, RCB released Patel and he played for Delhi Capitals. For Delhi, he got a chance to play only 12 matches in three seasons. RCB captain Virat Kohli again expressed confidence in Patel this year. He was bought by RCB from Delhi before the start of the 14th season of IPL.
