He is not exaggerating his knee injury. In most of the matches, he has come out to bat only in the last one or two overs. He would have hardly bowled 40-50 balls in the entire season.

Impact player rule doesn’t apply to Dhoni: Sehwag
Sehwag further said, “The rule of impact player does not apply to Dhoni. Because he is not playing as a batsman or bowler. He is in the team only for the captaincy. He will have to stay on the field full time to captain. The rule of impact player is for that player, who has to either bowl only or who has to be used as a batsman for the team. Dhoni has to field 20 overs and if he is not the captain then he will not play as an impact player either. Then you can see him in any role like mentor, coach or director of cricket.
