Honda to launch new Activa 6G with anti-theft feature next week

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), one of the big two-wheeler companies, will launch its new scooter Activa H-Smart on Monday. It will be the premium version of the company’s best-selling Activa 6G with new technology.

The company has not given more information about this scooter. It is being told that some new features will be given in it along with anti-theft system. It will compete with the already existing scooters in the market like TVS Jupiter and Hero Maestro. The new Activa will be lighter than the company’s existing scooter. Its weight can be reduced by about one kilogram from the DLX variant of Activa. New graphics and color options can be found in Activa H-Smart. Its powertrain has also been improved. The same 110 cc single-cylinder powertrain from the Activa could make 7.80 bhp instead of 7.68 bhp.

The H-Smart technology present in this scooter will include an anti-theft system. The company already offers the Honda Ignition Security System in the premium versions of its scooters. This feature can be given for the first time in the new Activa. It is likely to be included in other two-wheelers of the company as well.

Last year was a weak one for the two wheeler segment. December retail sales of two-wheelers declined to 11,33,138 units. This was the lowest retail sales in December in the last three years. Last year this figure was 12,75,894 units. The reasons for this decline include reasons like increase in inflation and slowdown. Hero MotoCorp In December, sales declined by 1,13,634 units to 3,30,175 units. The company had sold 4,43,809 units in December last year. Hero MotoCorp’s market share declined from 34.78 percent to 29.14 percent. The rise in sales of electric two-wheelers in the last few months has also impacted the market. The sale of electric scooters of Ola Electric, which is included in the big electric two-wheeler companies, is increasing rapidly. company sold around 25,000 electric scooters in December. Ola Electric opened 100 experience centers last year. The company is preparing to double the number of these experience centers this month. This will make it easier to buy the company’s electric scooters.
