For the first time the entire tournament is being organized in India. The 45 league matches, semi-finals and final of the 2023 ODI World Cup will be played over a period of 46 days in Dharamsala, Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai.

A total of 10 teams will participate in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Out of this, 8 teams including India have already qualified for the World Cup while two teams will be decided by the qualifier tournament being played in Zimbabwe in which 2-time world champion West Indies and one-time world champion Sri Lanka are participating.

The format of the 2023 ODI World Cup will be similar to 2019, in which 10 teams will play each other once in the league round and the top-4 teams will qualify for the semi-finals. India qualified directly as hosts while Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa made it to the top eight of the 2020-2023 World Cup Super League and based on this ranking, these teams will qualify for the World Cup. Qualified for. The remaining 2 teams will be decided by the ongoing World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, UAE, America and Zimbabwe are participating in this.

India will play league matches in 9 cities
The 2023 World Cup will begin with a clash between 2019 finalists New Zealand and England. This match will be played at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
