New Delhi. Pakistan’s left-handed batsman Imam-ul-Haq Injured has been injured. He suffered a rib injury during a match of the National T20 Cup 2021. For this reason, the match had to be stopped for some time. Later he was taken to the hospital. The good thing is that Imam’s bone is not broken and he is expected to recover soon. Imam is currently captaining the Balochistan team in the National T20 Cup.
A day earlier, Imam’s team Balochistan was against Southern Punjab. This match was played in Rawalpindi. In this match, Imam collided with the boundary board while trying to save a shot from Punjab batsman Shoaib Maqsood from crossing the boundary. His ribs were hurt. The team’s physiotherapist reached the ground as soon as Imam was injured. But he was in a lot of pain. After this the batsman was taken to the hospital for examination. Thankfully he didn’t break his ribs.
Imam got injured while fielding
Due to injury, Imam did not come out to bat for Balochistan. However, even in the absence of the captain, the team performed well and achieved the target of 175 runs for victory by losing 2 wickets. Abdul Bengalzai and Abdullah Shafiq played an important role in the victory of Balochistan. Both of them shared 84 runs for the first wicket. Bengalzai completed his 50 runs in 42 balls. In his innings, this batsman scored 7 fours. At the same time, Shafiq also scored 44 runs in 28 balls. He hit 5 fours and 1 six. After his dismissal, Haris Sohail stole 47 runs in 35 balls to give victory to the team.
Imam’s poor performance in the National T20 Cup
As far as Imam’s performance in the National T20 Cup is concerned, he has been able to score only 41 runs in 4 innings at an average of 10.25. His team Balochistan is currently in fifth place in the points table with 4 points. Imam was with the Pakistan team that went on the tour of England. There he got a chance to play in a series of 3 ODIs. Imam had scored 56 runs in the third ODI of the series. Imam has played 11 Tests, 46 ODIs and 2 T20s for Pakistan.
