IND vs AUS: ‘We were under pressure throughout the match, but…’ Hardik Pandya told 2 reasons for the victory

India beat Australia in first ODI
KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja played an important role in India’s victory.

Mumbai. India beat Australia by 5 wickets in Mumbai ODI. India achieved the target of 189 runs in 39.5 overs only. After the 5-wicket win in the first ODI, Hardik Pandya praised KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja and said that their batting was relaxing. Rahul scored an unbeaten 75 and Jadeja scored an unbeaten 45, being ruled out of the third and fourth Tests against Australia due to poor form.

Acting captain Pandya said, “I am very happy with our performance. Jaddu (Jadeja) came back after eight months and performed brilliantly. I enjoyed my bowling and batting. But the batting of Jaddu and Rahul was reassuring. We were under pressure in both the innings, but we didn’t lose our composure and came out of tough situations. After getting the rhythm, we didn’t lose it.

Comeback performance like a bonus: Jadeja
Player of the match Jadeja said returning after eight months after a knee operation, he was trying to adapt to the format and this performance came as a bonus.

He said that we were playing Test cricket and I made a comeback in ODIs after a long time. I was trying to bowl well. Australian captain Steve Smith said that 260-270 runs should have been scored on this wicket.

Jadeja further said that we did not expect such a performance. India bowled well. If we had scored 250 runs, we could have stayed in the match. The fast bowlers got a lot of help from the wicket.
