new Delhi. The first match of the two-Test series between India and Bangladesh in Chittagong has become exciting. On the fourth day of the match, in the second innings, the host team had strengthened its hold by dropping 6 wickets. India is 4 wickets away from victory. Chasing a target of 514 runs, Bangladesh scored 272 runs at the loss of 6 wickets till the end of the fourth day’s play. Bangladesh need 241 runs to win on the last day. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan returned unbeaten on 40 runs at the end of the fourth day’s play. At the other end is Mehdi Hasan Miraj.
Earlier, on the fourth day, Bangladesh started playing ahead of yesterday’s score of 42 runs. Both Bangladesh openers Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hossain batted brilliantly and completed 50 runs in the 16th over of Bangladesh’s innings. Even before lunch, both the batsmen completed their half-centuries and Bangladesh’s score also crossed 100. India got its first success at a score of 124 runs. Najmul Hussain got caught out behind the wicket while trying to play Umesh Yadav’s ball towards the third man. Shanto got out after scoring 67 runs.

Together these two destroyed the middle order of Bangladesh. Akshar Patel got India’s second success by dismissing Yasir Ali. After this, Liton Das and Zakir Hasan added 42 runs for the third wicket. Kuldeep Yadav gave the third blow to Bangladesh by dismissing Liton Das.
After this, Ashwin took care of the other end and dismissed Hasan immediately after scoring a century. He scored 1001 runs in 224 balls with the help of 13 fours and a six. Hasan scored a century on his debut test. Akshar then gave the fifth blow to Bangladesh by dismissing Mushfiqur Rahim on the score of 23 runs. In the same over, he also made wicketkeeper batsman Nurul Hasan his victim. However, after this captain Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraj did not allow Bangladesh to suffer a single blow in the remaining 14 overs. Shakib returned unbeaten on 40 and Miraj on 9 runs. Bangladesh will need 241 runs to win on the fifth day and they have 4 wickets left.
