IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma comes out of isolation after coming negative in Kovid-19 test, will be part of T20 series

Birmingham. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has come out of isolation after coming negative in the Kovid-19 test. He will be available for the T20 International series against England starting July 7. The 35-year-old Rohit is not part of the remaining 5th Test match of last year’s series against England after being confirmed to be infected with the corona virus on the second day of the practice match against Leicestershire.

A senior BCCI official said, ‘Yes, Rohit has been negative in the investigation. As per the medical protocol, he is now out of isolation. He will not be part of the T20 warm-up match against Northamptonshire today as he needs rest and practice before the opening T20 International.

As per medical protocol, any player after coming out of Kovid-19 isolation has to undergo a mandatory heart test to check lung capacity. 35-year-old Rohit Sharma was part of the Test match against Sri Lanka in March.

The Indian team was desperate to play Rohit in the current Test against England, but before the start of the match, he was found to be Kovid-19 positive in three tests. In such a situation, the team had to enter the field under the leadership of Jasprit Bumrah.
