Team India won the second ODI
Defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets in a one-sided match
New Delhi. India defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets in the second ODI. Bowling first after winning the toss in a one-sided match, the bowlers of Team India bundled out the New Zealand team for 108 runs. Kiwi batter could stay at the crease for only 35 overs. While fast bowler Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets, Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar took 2-2 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj and Shardul Thakur got 1-1 wickets in their account. Along with excellent bowling, Hardik also affected the match with his strong fielding.
In the 10th over of the innings, Pandya caught a surprising catch of dangerous Kiwi batter Devon Conway on his own ball. In the 30th over, he uprooted the wicket of Mitchell Santner, who was seen freezing at the crease. In the first ODI, Santner shared a 162-run partnership with Mitchell Bracewell after six quick wickets fell. In that match, Santner scored 57 runs in 45 balls with the help of 7 fours and a six. Pandya said about his and the team’s performance in the innings break, it was a great day to be honest. We used the wicket properly and everything went well for us. I didn’t feel any problem in taking that return catch.

‘Getting better with every match’
Hardik said, my body is feeling better with every match. It is coming well and on time. In the match, we bowled in the right areas, kept testing the batter. It was one of those days when the edge of the bat was going to the fielders and we used to take catches. However, this is not a 108-run wicket. It is clear from the way Hardik caught Conway’s extraordinary catch while bending down with the run-up that he is completely fit. Looking at the ODI World Cup, this is a good sign for Team India.
