Ind vs Nz 3rd T20I: 11 arrested near Eden Gardens Kolkata aahead India New Zealand match – Latest Cricket News

Police have arrested 11 people ahead of the match between India and New Zealand to be played in Kolkata. These people were arrested on Sunday near Kolkata’s Eden Gardens stadium for illegally selling tickets, police said. 60 match tickets were recovered from them, which were being sold at a higher price. Security has been beefed up in the stadium and the surrounding area to prevent any untoward incident, a senior police officer said.

A police officer said that over 2,000 personnel from various units of Kolkata Police, including RAF and HRFS, were deployed. He said that anti rowdy squad has also been deployed near the stadium. He also informed that officers of the level of Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner have been deployed in the stadium and surrounding areas. Officers in plain uniform are also stationed at different places around the Eden Gardens. We are not taking any chances and want to ensure that the game is conducted without any hindrance.
