The first match of the two-match Test series between India and New Zealand will be played at Green Park, Kanpur from Thursday. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has selected India’s probable playing XI for this test match. India has suffered a major setback after KL Rahul was ruled out of the series due to injury. Virat Kohli has been given rest in this match. He will be part of Team India in the second test. Whereas Rohit Sharma has been rested in this Test series. Chopra believes that India should not go into this Test match with 6 specialist batsmen.
Aakash Chopra has included Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill in his playing XI as openers. After this, Cheteshwar Pujara has been selected at number 3, captain Ajinkya Rahane at number four and Shreyas Iyer at number 5. He has not included Suryakumar Yadav in the playing XI. He has picked all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja at number 6 and wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha at number seven. He has given Ashwin a place in his playing XI at number 8.
He has chosen Akshar Patel at number 9. He believes that Team India should go with five bowlers. Because R Ashwin and Axar Patel can also bat in the lower order. As fast bowlers, he has chosen Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Siraj. Aakash Chopra believes that both these bowlers bowl better reverse swing than Ishant Sharma.
