After playing the final of ICC T20 World Cup 2021, New Zealand cricket team has reached India tour. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will miss the three-match T20I series and will focus on the two-match Test series to be played on this tour. New Zealand Cricket has confirmed this. In his absence, the command of the T20 team has been given to senior fast bowler Tim Southee. A three-match T20 International series is to be played between India and New Zealand from November 17, while a two-match Test series will be played from November 25.
New Zealand’s Test specialist group in Jaipur has already arrived and Williamson will also be a part of it. In such a situation, Tim Southee will take over the command of the team. Kyle Jamieson, Darrell Mitchell, Glenn Phillips and Mitchell Santner will be available for both the T20 and Test series.
