New Delhi. New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Jamieson has decided to pull out of the three-match T20 series against India. Jameson wants to focus on the upcoming Test series. Jamieson thus joins the ranks of captain Kane Williamson, who had decided to pull out of T20 matches to prepare for the two-match Test series starting November 25. The Test series will be the first series of the new World Test Championship cycle.
Coach Gary Stead said, “After talking to Kane and Kyle, we decided that they will not play in the T20 series. They will both prepare for the Test matches and I think you will find that some of the other players in the Test team will also not play for the entire series. It’s time to strike a balance with having three T20 matches in five days and traveling to three different cities. It’s a very busy time.” New Zealand won the first World Test Championship in July this year by defeating India by eight wickets in Southampton, England.
The first match of the 3 T20 match series between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ) will be played in Jaipur on Wednesday.
