The first match of this series will be played on 18 January. T20 star batsman Suryakumar Yadav was looking for a chance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Although, he was given a chance in the last ODI but his batting came at the end of the innings. Will he get enough chances to play in ODIs now?

However, the ODI series was affected by rain due to which Sky got to play only one ODI. At the same time, now even before the start of the series against New Zealand, Team India has suffered a major setback. After which speculations are being made that Suryakumar can be included in the playing XI.

At the last moment before the first ODI to be held on January 18, BCCI has told bad news for India by mail. Shreyas Iyer, who was part of the ODI series against Sri Lanka, has been ruled out of the series due to injury. After which coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma have no option other than Mr. 360. Although, Rajat Patidar has been given a chance in the team, but seeing the experience, Sky will be kept as the first option.

Shreyas Iyer has a back injury

Shreyas Iyer had done well in 2022. After which he was being given continuous opportunities in the ODI team. But Iyer has been ruled out of the ODI series due to a back injury. He scored the most runs for India in all three formats last year. Talking about ODIs, the right-handed batsman scored 724 runs in 17 matches.
