IND vs NZ Will Venkatesh Iyer be groomed as a bowling all-rounder Captain Rohit Sharma gave this answer – Latest Cricket News

Ever since Hardik Pandya returned to Team India after back surgery, his bowling has always been discussed. Hardik has not been able to bowl consistently and in such a situation, questions are being raised about his role as an all-rounder. Hardik is not in the squad for the three-match T20 International series against New Zealand, while Venkatesh Iyer has found a place in the team. Captain Rohit Sharma spoke about Venkatesh’s preparation as a bowling all-rounder for the future.

Rohit Sharma said, ‘I think it is important to know that we have to prepare every player. I know the importance of bowling all-rounders, but if you look at just one spot, I think it will not be right. No one spot will be looked at for futures. We have to keep an eye on the entire team and see which player is fit for which role and how effective he can prove to be for the team. We will do whatever is necessary for this. We will keep an eye on every player. Rohit said that for this the players who are in the team, whether they are playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy or are sitting at home, we have to keep an eye on everyone and choose the player according to the need in the team.

Team India lacked a bowling all-rounder during the T20 World Cup. Hardik Pandya played as a finisher in the team, but could not bowl much. He bowled in the matches against New Zealand and Afghanistan, but still did not look in the rhythm. Venkatesh Iyer played the role of a fast bowler all-rounder in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He can be groomed as a fast bowler all-rounder for Team India for the future.
