New Delhi. Former Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis may have apologized for his statement by tweeting ‘Muhammad Rizwan’s Namaz among Hindus’. But this controversy does not seem to end. Now former Pakistani spinner Danish Kaneria has slammed Younis and asked him to apologize for his statement on National TV. Kaneria said that Waqar has hurt the sentiments of Hindus. In such a situation, he should apologize in front of the society.
Kaneria appeared disappointed with the statement of former Pakistan fast bowler Younis. He wrote on the social media app Ku that Yunus made unnecessary and derogatory remarks on Hindus on Pakistan’s channel. I am proud to be a Hindu. I am annoyed by his statement. My point is clearly that don’t bring religion in the game. Your words hurt my heart. I am a Hindu myself and from your statement it seems that discrimination is still there. Before Kaneria, Harsha Bhogle had also reprimanded Yunus for his statement. Bhogle had tweeted one after the other and asked Waqar Yunus to apologize for his statement.
Waqar Yunus apologized by tweeting
After criticism from all sides, Waqar Yunus had apologized for his prayer statement by tweeting a day earlier. Waqar had written that I had said something in the hustle and bustle on TV which I did not want to say. This has hurt the sentiments of many people. I apologize for this. I didn’t do this intentionally. It was my fault. Sports unites people irrespective of caste, color or religion.
Waqar stuck on ‘Namaz among Hindus’ statement
Earlier, Waqar was reviewing Pakistan’s victory on a Pakistan channel. During this, he had said about Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan that the best thing that Rizwan did was that he prayed while standing in the ground. Standing among Hindus…that was very special to me.
