IND vs SA: KL Rahul out of the entire series due to injury, Rishabh Pant will take charge

New Delhi. KL Rahul has been ruled out of the series against South Africa. It is now being said that Rahul, who was picked as the captain for the five-match series, suffered a side-strain. Due to this he has become unfit for the matches of 9-19 June. Rishabh Pant, named the vice-captain for the series, will now be given the responsibility of the captain. However, a formal decision has not yet been taken in this regard.

This series is being seen as a preparation for the T20 World Cup. The first match of the series will be played from Thursday, June 9, at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi. Indian captain Rohit Sharma, batting great Virat Kohli and pacer Jasprit Bumrah have been rested for this series due to continuous play in the IPL. In such a situation, Rahul’s injury is definitely a matter of concern for the team.

India has a chance to create a world record by winning 13 consecutive T20Is in Delhi. India has won 12 matches in a row. However, the head coach of the team is not giving much importance to this record of Rahul Dravid. His eyes are on the T20 World Cup and in such a situation, he will try to test new and experienced players.
