India head coach Rahul Dravid has always relied on consistency and gave clear indications on Tuesday that pacer Umran Malik may have to wait for his turn to come. Dravid was speaking ahead of the five-match T20I series between India and South Africa starting on Thursday. When asked about Umran, he said, “We have to see how much time we can give him to play. We have a big team and not everyone can be in the final playing XI.
“I like consistency and I believe in giving time to people. Arshdeep has also done well and he is also a good player.” Dravid said, “We also have some experienced players in Harshal, Bhuvi and Avesh who played the last series. It’s good to have young players too, which makes the pool bigger. Let’s see what they can do.”
IND vs SA: Coach Rahul Dravid is also a fan of Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, praised in the press conference
He praised Umran and said, “He bowls very fast. Nice to see Indian bowlers bowling so fast in IPL. The more he plays, the more he shines.
