Pant said after the match, ‘We had enough runs on the board, but I think we were a bit far from executing our plans. Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition team. David Miller and RVD (Der Dussen) batted well.

He also said that the wicket got a little better during the second innings. Pant said, ‘When we batted, the wicket seemed slow, but in the second innings it got better. Mostly we executed our plans (for Miller) but the wicket got better and better. We were very happy with the total but the next time we are in such a situation, we will do better.

Earlier, for Team India, opener Ishan Kishan contributed the highest 76 runs. He hit 11 fours and 3 sixes in his innings of 48 balls. Apart from him, Shreyas Iyer scored 36, vice-captain Hardik Pandya scored 31 not out and captain Rishabh Pant scored 29 runs.
