Virat Kohli has become the second slowest Indian to reach this milestone. While Kohli took 169 innings to become 8 Hazari in Test cricket, the fastest Indian to reach this milestone is Sachin Tendulkar who scored 8000 Test runs in 154 innings. Talking about international cricket, former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara holds the record for making the fastest 8000 runs in Test cricket, he took only 152 innings to score so many runs.

Last century was scored in 2019
According to the standard set by Virat Kohli, he has not been playing for the last two years. This can be gauged from the fact that Kohli’s last century with the bat came against Bangladesh on 22 November 2019. After that many times he managed to cross the score of 50 but he could not score a century.
Fans hope that Kohli will do this feat in his 100th Test. Kohli had also given up the captaincy of the Test team after losing the Test series 1-2 against South Africa, so now his entire focus is on batting. After leaving the captaincy of Kohli, Rohit Sharma has been handed over the captaincy of the longest format of cricket by the BCCI.
