I knew it as soon as I saw it in IPL, it is special

De Villiers said on his YouTube channel, ‘Ever since he saw Yashasvi playing in the IPL, he realized that this player is special. It doesn’t happen every day that a young player makes his debut in Test cricket and scores a century. I saw him playing in IPL for the first time. I thought there was something really special. You see how much time he has to face the ball. The speed of the ball will not bother him. Even when he is playing spin bowling, it seems that he has time. ‘Before de Villiers, former Australia spinner Brad Hogg has also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Extremely talented, India’s future hope
De Villiers appreciated Yashasvi’s approach of settling on the wicket before playing the shot. He said, ‘It seems that he has time to take a decision, while other players are seen in a hurry. He is very talented youth and future hope for India. I am happy to see him score a century in the first Test match. Yashasvi is such a player of India who has scored more than 150 runs on Test debut. At the forefront of this matter is Shikhar Dhawan, another left-handed batsman who scored an inning of 187 against Australia in Mohali in the year 2013. Team India’s current captain Rohit Sharma played an inning of 177 runs in his debut test. Rohit played this innings against the West Indies in Kolkata in the year 2023.
