India vs New Zealand Kyle Jamieson opts out of India T20Is to focus on Test series – Latest Cricket News


New Zealand’s team has suffered another major setback ahead of the three-match T20 series with India starting on Wednesday. After captain Kane Williamson, now fast bowler Kyle Jamieson has also been ruled out of the T20 series against India. The first T20 match between the two teams is to be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur this evening. Jamieson has decided to pull out of the T20I series to refresh himself for the Test series. New Zealand coach Gary Stead has informed about Jamieson’s withdrawal. New Zealand also has to play a two-match Test series with India after this series.

Stead said in a statement, ‘We have decided after talking to Kane Williamson and Kyle Jamieson that these two players will not play in the T20 series. He will join the team for the Test series. Before Jamieson, captain Kane Williamson had also pulled out of the T20 series and said that he has decided to pull out of the T20 series to refresh himself for the Test series.

The first Test between India and New Zealand will be played in Kanpur from November 25 and the second Test in Mumbai from December 3. This test series is part of the World Test Championship. New Zealand is the champion of the World Test Championship.
