Team India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami took five wickets in the first innings on the third day of the Centurion Test. After the end of the third day’s play, Shami has been interviewed on BCCI TV by the new bowling coach Paras Mhambrey. In this video, Shami told that what will be the first thing he will do after going to the hotel room after the match. Shami said in response, there is nothing to be ashamed of in this. Apart from this, Shami told why he celebrated in a completely different way after taking 200 Test wickets.
Shami said, ‘Last time I took four wickets in Centurion, so this time my focus was on 200 Test wickets along with five wickets and for this I put a little extra effort. It was in the mind that if you hit so much effort, then five wickets should be taken, last time also four wickets were left. So he was trying and the effort came to fruition. When Mhambrey asked why he celebrated 200 wickets by raising both his hands towards the sky, Shami said, ‘My father is no more, so this celebration was for him. Wherever I have reached I have reached only because of him.
Shami said that when 100 Test wickets were completed, I felt that I have done something and it feels good to take 200 more wickets. He also said that the best part of Test cricket is that as much as you enjoy it, you will get success. When Mhambrey asked what would be the first thing you would do after going to the hotel room, Shami said, ‘When you are on the ground, you need a massage, what’s the shame in that! Will take a massage.
