Rohit said before the match, ‘We are in a good position as a Test team. The whole credit goes to Virat for the position we are in as a Test team now. Where he has left, I will take it forward from there. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, regular members of the Test team, have been dropped for this series due to poor form, but Rohit acknowledged their contribution in making India the number one team in the longer format.
This statement was given on Pujara-Rahane
Rohit said on Rahane and Pujara, ‘It is not easy to fill the place of players like Rahane and Pujara. You cannot describe in words what he did for the team. All the victories abroad, becoming our number one, his role in all this was important. We have not considered his name only for now.
