Deepak Hooda was a super flop in IPL.
He made his debut in Team India last year.
New Delhi. The Indian cricket team is currently taking a turn towards the new era. After IPL (IPL 2023), the eyes of the selectors have been fixed on many players who have caught their attention with their performance. At the same time, young stars like Rituraj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal have opened their way for Team India as well. But there are some players for whom it is very difficult to overcome this competition. One of those names is Team India’s all-rounder Deepak Hooda.
The year 2022 proved to be a good dream for Deepak Hooda. He made an entry in Team India’s T20 and ODI format on the basis of his performance in the domestic circuit and made everyone crazy with his batting. Hooda did not do anything special in 7 innings of ODIs but got to see a century from his bat in T20. At the same time, after last year, the doors of Team India seem to be closing for Hooda. He didn’t fully live up to the opportunities he got from India, yet the IPL was a good platform to attract the attention of the selectors. Hooda proved to be a super flop in IPL.
How was the performance in IPL 2023?
In IPL 2023, Deepak Hooda was given ample opportunities by Lucknow Super Giants. He played 12 matches in which only 84 runs came out of Hooda’s bat. He could not even cross the figure of 20 in any match. Players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rituraj Gaikwad have made a place in Team India by batting in a dashing manner in the IPL. In such a situation, a good performance in IPL could prove to be very effective for Hooda.
It is difficult to get a chance even in the Asian Games.
The squad of the Indian team has also come forward for the Asian Games. In which Hooda’s name is in stand by players. In such a situation, if any player in the 15-member team is seriously injured, then Hooda can make a place in the team. Team India’s doors seem to be slowly closing for the Indian all-rounder.
