India’s most mileage efficient sedan Honda City e:HEV launched, runs 26.5 KM in 1 liter


Car manufacturer Honda has finally launched the Honda City e:HEV in the Indian market. The long-awaited City e:HEV Hybrid is a great car, in which customers will get to see great features. Specifications of Honda City e:HEV

In terms of specifications, the Honda City e:HEV Hybrid is powered by a unique Atkinson Cycle 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that is connected to two electric motors. The first motor acts as an electric generator and the second acts as a propulsion. In terms of mileage, the City e:HEV claims a mileage of 26.5 kmpl and can offer a range of 1000km. While the City ZX CVT running on the normal standard petrol claims a mileage of 18.4 kmpl. With the powertrain mated to the eCVT transmission and the battery pack in the boot, the Honda City hybrid sedan runs on electric-only mode in start/stop conditions. Talking about power, the engine generates 126hp power and 253Nm torque at peak efficiency of 2000 Rpm.

Features of Honda City e:HEV

In terms of features, the Honda City e:HEV also offers segment-first active safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and autonomous emergency braking. All of these are housed in the Honda Sensing suite. Apart from this, the City e:HEV Hybrid will get 6 airbags, ORVM-mounted lane-watch camera, multi-angle rear-view camera, tire pressure monitoring system (TMPS), vehicle stability assist, hill-start assist and ISOFIX-compatible rear seats. Design of Honda City e:HEV

In terms of looks, this hybrid car is similar to the fifth generation City, but some things are different. The car gets a blue outline on the Honda logo, a tailgate-mounted e:HEV badge, new fog light garnish, updated diffuser design on the rear bumper and a boot lid spoiler. Interiors get updated 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, ambient lighting and electric sunroof with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Talking about the price, the ex-showroom price of Honda City e:HEV is Rs 19.49 lakh. In comparison, the ex-showroom price of the standard City ZX CVT is Rs 15.03 lakh.

Competition with these cars

The new City Hybrid could rival the Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Skoda Slavia.
