Pakistan cricket team won the series by defeating West Indies by 120 runs in the second match of the three-match ODI series. This is Pakistan’s 10th consecutive ODI series win against the Caribbean team. Pakistan won the first ODI by 5 wickets and now despite winning both the matches, former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has expressed his concern about a major problem facing the team. Shan Masood has been left out of Pakistan’s current ODI team and many veterans have expressed their displeasure about it. Now Inzamam has also entered in it. The engineer has given his opinion about Mohammad Harris and Shan Masood.
Former captain Inzamam said in a video released on his official YouTube channel, ‘When it comes to Pakistan’s batting, I think number 5 is the most important position in the middle order. A proper batsman should play at this number. But here is now playing Harris, who is new. It is difficult for a young player to play at this number. We have to give them more confidence. I don’t think he should be given a chance here.
He said, ‘I believe this problem is in both T20 and ODI. Shaan Masood is doing a great job. He is a good cricketer. If we try him at number five, he can do better. Even players like Khushdil Shah and others will benefit from him. We have Rizwan at No. 4 and if Shaan plays at No. 5, his role in the lower order will be to finish the match.
The former captain also talked about the T20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia in October-November this year. He said the team needs “experienced” players at the crucial batting numbers. “When we go to Australia, we will not get the kind of pitches we are playing on now,” Engie said. We need an experienced player and we have to think about it.
