Despite losing to Chennai Super Kings in the first qualifier of IPL 2021, Delhi Capitals still have a chance to reach the final. Delhi’s team now faces Eliminator winners Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier-2 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday and the team that wins the match will take on three-time champions Chennai in the final on October 15. Meanwhile, former West Indies captain Brian Lara has expressed concern over the form of Delhi Capitals pacer Kagiso Rabada. In the 14th season of the IPL, Rabada has so far taken 13 wickets in 14 matches as compared to 30 wickets in the previous season.
“Yes (Rabada’s form is a matter of concern for Delhi) he is an exceptionally talented bowler,” Lara said on Star Sports’ live feed of the dugout show. He played a huge role in taking Delhi to the finals last year. He had taken a lot of wickets in the middle and last overs with slow deliveries, but this time at the end of the tournament that is not happening to him.
The veteran batsman said, ‘Yes, when you give the main responsibility to Enrique Nortje, you want a world class bowler. Especially a bowler who can do this work as he has done in previous tournaments. But this time he has not done so. And this is the reason why there has been some uneasiness in Delhi regarding them. I think Delhi Capitals would love to see Rabada back in form at the earliest.
