Chennai beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets in Sharjah on Friday. Despite the brilliant innings of Virat Kohli (53) and young opener Devdutt Padikkal (70), the Bangalore team could manage only 156 for 6 wickets. After this, Chennai achieved the target in 18.1 overs by losing 4 wickets.
With this win, the Chennai team again made it to the top of the points table. Dhoni’s team registered its 7th win in 9 matches and has 14 points equal to Delhi. Harshal Patel got Moin caught by Virat on the last ball of the 14th over. He scored 23 runs in 18 balls with the help of 2 sixes. Then Rayudu was also sent to the pavilion by Harshal. Rayudu hit fours on both the opening balls of the 16th over of Harshal’s innings but he was caught by de Villiers on the fourth ball. He scored 32 runs in 22 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six. Harshal Patel took 2 wickets for Bangalore while Chahal and Maxwell got 1-1 wickets.
Earlier, Virat and Devdutt showed a strong game on the ground of Sharjah and both made an opening partnership of 111 runs. Despite this, the RCB team could not make a big score.
