IPL 2021 CSK Weakness arises ahead of Playoffs as MS Dhoni Suresh Raina And Ambati Rayudu poor form with bat continues

New Delhi. IPL 2021 has now reached the last week. Today the last two matches of the league stage will be played. After this the battle for the playoffs (IPL 2021 Playoffs) will start. However, even before this, difficulties seem to be arising in front of Chennai. Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK had a great start to the second half of IPL 2021. The team won 4 matches in a row. But Chennai failed to maintain this streak of victory and the team had to face defeat in the last three matches.

The reason for this failure of Chennai is the poor performance of the middle-order batsmen of the team. Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu have not been able to contribute much with the bat this season. In the last 3 matches, the team has to bear the brunt of it in the form of defeat. If we talk about the match against Punjab Kings a day earlier, then in this match Rayudu scored 4 and Dhoni scored 12 runs.

Robin Uthappa’s bat, playing in place of Raina, also remained silent and he too could score only 2 runs. For this reason, batting first, Chennai could score only 134 runs in 20 overs. Punjab achieved this target on the basis of the stormy innings of KL Rahul (98 *) by losing 4 wickets.

CSK’s middle order is not scoring runs
Earlier, in the two matches in which Chennai had to face defeat. Dhoni, Raina and Rayudu did not get runs in that too. Chennai had to face defeat by 7 wickets in the match against Rajasthan Royals on 2 October. Raina and Rayudu together scored 5 runs in this match. Dhoni did not get a chance to bat. At the same time, Dhoni scored only 18 runs in the match against Delhi Capitals on 4 October.

Dhoni and Raina’s bat remained silent in IPL 2021
Dhoni may be looking successful in captaincy. But his performance with the bat in IPL 2021 has been poor. He has been able to score only 96 runs in 14 matches at an average of 13.71. He has hit only 9 fours. Same was the case with Raina. He has scored 160 runs in 12 matches at an average of 17.77. Raina has hit only 13 fours in the entire season. Rayudu has scored more runs than these two. He has scored 256 runs in 14 matches of this season. Has also hit two half-centuries. However, he has not been able to score runs on many important occasions. This was the reason why the team had to face defeat.

Duplessi-Gaikwad pair shines
The biggest reason for Chennai’s good performance in this season is the opening pair of Faf du Plessis and Rituraj Gaikwad. The pair have partnered for the first wicket twice in this season, more than 100 runs and 4 times 50 or more runs. Both these batsmen have scored more than 500 runs in this season.

CSK will be back on track: Fleming
Now Chennai has to enter the playoffs and before that this weakness will have to be overcome. The head coach of the team, Stephen Fleming, is also a little worried after losing 3 matches in a row. After the defeat in the match against Punjab Kings, he said that if you lose 3 matches in a row, then you should be upset. Batting first, trying to set big targets in front of the opposition team at different venues has been a bit tricky. I am not too worried about the future. Because things can change quickly.
