IPL 2021 KKR Dinesh Karthik Reprimanded for Breaching IPL Code of Conduct against DC match

New Delhi. The title match of IPL 2021 will be between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders (IPL 2021 Final KKR vs CSK) on 15 October. In the second qualifier, two-time champions Kolkata defeated Delhi Capitals (DC vs KKR) by 3 wickets in a thrilling match. Actually, Delhi was on top of the points table after the end of the league stage. In the first qualifier, he was up against Chennai Super Kings. Delhi had to face defeat in this match. After this, through the second qualifier, Delhi had another chance to make it to the final. But KKR ruined his dreams. However, KKR suffered a setback after the win. The team’s wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik received a reprimand from the IPL for his behavior on the field.

The IPL issued a statement saying that Dinesh Karthik, the wicket-keeper batsman of Kolkata Knight Riders, has been found guilty of violating the code of conduct of the league in the Qualifier-2 match against Delhi Capitals. Karthik has violated Article 2.2 of Level 1. However, he has accepted his mistake and the punishment given by the league. In case of breach of Level-1 rule, the decision of the match referee is final. Thankfully, Karthik was not given any harsh punishment. Just reprimanded and left.

KKR got a target of 136 runs
Here, talking about the second qualifier between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi batted first and scored 135 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan played the highest innings of 30 runs for Delhi. Apart from him, Shreyas Iyer also scored 30 runs. Varun Chakraborty took 2 wickets for Kolkata.

Chasing the target of 136 runs for victory, KKR made a great start. Venkatesh Iyer (55) and Shubman Gill (46) added 12.2 overs for the first wicket to ensure the team’s victory. In the first 6 overs, the team had scored 51 runs without a wicket. However, Kolkata’s innings faltered a bit after KKR’s opening pair broke on the score of 96 runs. Within 34 runs, 5 batsmen returned to the pavilion. But Rahul Tripathi gave the team victory by hitting a six on the fifth ball of the last over.
