IPL 2021 KKR vs RR: Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson reaction after defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders – Latest Cricket News

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by 86 runs in the second match of the day on Thursday. With this, Kolkata has almost confirmed its place in the playoffs. At the same time, after this defeat, the chances of Rajasthan Royals reaching the playoffs are negligible. Rajasthan is at number seven in the points table with 10 points. Sanju Samson looked very disappointed after Rajasthan’s loss against KKR. He told that he had to face defeat due to non-implementation of plans.

After the match, Sanju Samson said, ‘To be honest, I think it was a better wicket. The new ball was staying down a bit but had a better wicket. The target of 171 runs could have been achieved on this wicket. I think we wanted to start well. We needed a powerful powerplay. Whatever plan we had planned, we wanted to implement it but we failed to do so. I think if you look at the entire season, we have gone through a lot of challenges. However, we showed passion and I am proud of my fellow players. We won some close matches and lost some easy ones.

He further said, ‘We need to play a better standard of cricket to win more matches in this tournament. Everyone came with positive vibes. People were ready to go there (UAE) and win the game for us. As a captain, I changed the way I look at my innings. It was always about thinking about the conditions of the match. I would have liked to win the game despite scoring a lot of runs.

Talking about the match, Kolkata, batting first after losing the toss, scored 171 runs for four wickets in the allotted 20 overs. KKR then bowled out Rajasthan for just 85 runs in 16.1 overs. For Kolkata, Shivam Mavi bowled the best of his career, taking four wickets for 21 runs in 3.1 overs.
