New Delhi. Defending runners-up Delhi Capitals defeated Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets in the match of IPL-2021 on Saturday. Record 5-time champion Mumbai team could not do anything special in front of Delhi bowlers and could score only 129 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. After this, the wickets of Delhi also kept falling at regular intervals but former captain Shreyas Iyer (33 *) remained at one end and returned only after giving victory to the team. Delhi chased down the target in 19.1 overs for the loss of 6 wickets when Ravichandran Ashwin (20*) hit the winning six.
Chasing the target of 130 runs, the Delhi team had a poor start and its 3 wickets fell to 30 runs only. For that Suryakumar Yadav scored the highest 33 runs while Delhi spinner Axar Patel and pacer Avesh Khan took 3-3 wickets. Mumbai got the initial blow in the second over of the innings and captain Rohit Sharma (7) was caught by Avesh Khan at the hands of Kagiso Rabada. Then Axar Patel got de Kock caught by Norkhia. He hit 1 four and 1 six in 18 balls. Suryakumar added 31 runs for the third wicket with Saurabh Tiwary. The pair also broke the alphabet.
