New Delhi. Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, his team Royal Challengers Bangalore has qualified in the IPL playoffs for the second consecutive year. In the 14th season of IPL, RCB still has two matches to play and the eyes of the team are on making it to the top 2. RCB, who are in the process of their maiden IPL title, are currently in third place with 16 points from 12 matches. Delhi Capitals is on top with 20 points followed by Chennai Super Kings (18). To reach the top 2, RCB will have to register a big win against Sunrisers Hyderabad today. Kohli has already said that it is wonderful to make the IPL playoffs with two matches left and now he is aiming to be in the top 2.
Chennai’s run rate is the best in IPL 2021
Chennai Super Kings has the best run rate (+0.739) in this season of IPL. On the other hand, despite occupying the third place, RCB (-0.157) is in bad shape in terms of run rate. If Chennai loses its next match to Punjab Kings and RCB is able to win both the next matches, then it will easily reach the top 2 with 20 points. Top 2 is also important because the team reaching it gets two chances for the final. If Chennai wins, then RCB will have to win both their matches by a big margin so that their run rate can be better.
