In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, a thrilling match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. In this match, SRH defeated Bangalore by 4 runs in the last over. This defeat has dealt a big blow to RCB. After the defeat of RCB, it is almost certain to be out of the top 2 teams of the playoffs. RCB are currently at number three in the points table, have reached the playoffs. Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson looked very happy with the win against RCB. He told after the match that Glenn Maxwell’s dismissal was the turning point of the match.
Kane Williamson said after the match, ‘It has been a difficult season and it was great to see the small improvements we made in ourselves. We thought Total was the defender and we saw that fight with every ball. I was just trying to capitalize on the powerplay and the ball kept coming to the surface and we were lucky to form a partnership. We knew things would not be quick from a bowling point of view, but we knew that if we have the guts and stay there long enough, we can build up the pressure. The game was going very tight and getting Maxwell out was the only way for us to get into the match. They are a great team and even though we are not in the race, it was great to see the fight.
Kane Williamson praised Umran Malik and said that he is definitely special. We saw him practicing in the nets. He is a real competitor and is proving to be effective even on slow pitches. They also have a lot of teammates and this helps in sharing knowledge. It’s a great opportunity for the youngsters to join in and hopefully we keep learning and we go back on Friday with a good performance.
