Dubai. Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain KL Rahul believes that his team got a good lesson from the last 4 matches of IPL 2021 played in UAE, out of which they won by a close margin and lost in two. Rahul said after Punjab’s 5-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) that everyone knows that our team is much better. Putting pressure on myself was not helping. The last four matches in the UAE are a great example. This is a good lesson for a young team like us. He said that his team played a great game against KKR and it deserved to win.
After the victory, KL Rahul said on the decision to drop spinner Harpreet Brar that this thing kills him as a captain. He doesn’t want to throw out Indian cricketers. Harpreet had to be thrown out with a heavy heart. Rahul, who was adjudged man of the match for his captaincy innings of 67 runs, said that we showed a great game. We realized it was a good wicket. There wasn’t much spin in it. Really happy that we were able to score 2 points by registering a win.
Catch left after return
KKR dropped several catches and their captain Eoin Morgan later admitted that his team had to bear the brunt of his poor fielding. Morgan said that we did not field well and dropped the catch. I myself dropped the catch in the beginning. Our score was level on this wicket. We fought and came back, but had to bear the brunt of dropping the catch.
Rahul Tripathi took the catch of KL Rahul in the 19th over, but the third umpire ruled in favor of the batsman. Morgan said that I believed that Tripathi’s catch was correct, but after looking closely, the third umpire found the opposite. We agreed with his decision. Hopefully, in the remaining two matches, we will play well and make it to the playoffs.
