New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli credited the bowlers for a thumping victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Rajasthan Royals. Virat said that returning to bowling in two consecutive matches is a good sign for the team. RCB allowed Royals to score only 49 runs in the last nine overs and took eight wickets in the meantime. Royals could only manage 149 runs for nine wickets. RCB achieved the target in 17.1 overs for the loss of three wickets.
After the match, Kohli said, “We have made a great comeback in bowling in two consecutive matches which is a good sign. We know that if you keep patience while bowling then you are heading in the right direction. In both the matches, the opposition team scored 56 runs for no loss in the powerplay but in both the matches we did not allow the opposition team to make a strong score by taking wickets. Was and got his team out for 111 runs and gave his team a 54-run victory.
Kohli said, “We know that the kind of bowling attack we have, if we take wickets, then the options will open up. You can’t take too much risk as a batsman when you’re looking for two points, so we focused on the mistakes of the batsmen. “Two things went well for us. Good bowling in the middle overs and a good start in batting. Me and Devdutt Padikkal got off to a good start so that Maxwell, Sreekar Bharat and de Villiers could take advantage of it.
Royals captain Samson said that his team could not take advantage of a good start. He said, “We had a good start but we could not take advantage of it. The middle order batsmen will have to bat with more confidence. Our batsmen lost wickets by playing shots with wrong timing.” Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets for 18 runs in four overs and was adjudged man of the match.
