New Delhi. Shreyas Iyer did a lot with his bat in the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Batting at number three, the former Delhi Capitals captain scored 91 runs in three matches, helping Delhi win two matches. Shreyas Iyer in particular missed the first half of the competition due to a shoulder injury. So he had the responsibility of making a great comeback and impressing the selectors ahead of the T20 World Cup. Iyer has certainly lived up to the expectations so far and would like to continue his impressive run.
Meanwhile, fans got to see some glimpses of Shreyas Iyer’s training in a recently posted video on the Twitter page of Delhi Capitals. The clip clearly shows the star batsman talking about his shots during the practice session.
The 26-year-old cricketer’s passion for big hitting is clearly evident, as he once described the sound of a ball hitting the bat as ‘orgasmic’. In the video, Iyer can also be seen challenging a bowler. In this video the former Delhi Capitals captain said, “See that antenna at the top of the academy? I’m going to kill you there.” Iyer played several big hits in the practice session as the bowlers were facing tough times.

Shreyas Iyer said that he is satisfied as he is challenging the bowlers and winning. Iyer’s return to form is a good sign for Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals have already qualified for the playoffs. He has won 8 out of 11 matches. However, now his eyes are on being in the top two. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals suffered a three-wicket defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders in the last match held in Sharjah. While the Rishabh Pant-led side really need not worry about losing, they will look to enter the playoffs on the back of some impressive performances.
The next match of Delhi Capitals will be played against Mumbai Indians in Sharjah on October 2. At the same time, Shreyas Iyer has been selected as a standby player in Team India for the ICC T20 World Cup. If any member of the 15-man team is injured, they will be required.
