Sharjah. Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has got a place in Team India for the T20 World Cup. Earlier this bowler has created history in the UAE. He took 2 wickets against Delhi Capitals while playing for KKR in Qualifier-2 of IPL 2021. He has taken 18 wickets so far in the current season. This is his best performance in IPL history. In the T20 league held in UAE last year, Varun took 17 wickets. The T20 World Cup is to start from October 17. Team India has to play the first match against Pakistan on 24 October.
Varun Chakraborty conceded just 26 runs in 4 overs and took 2 wickets against Delhi on Wednesday. He dismissed Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan. However, he missed the third wicket. Shimron Hetmyer was out, but the ball was no-balled. In the current season so far, he has taken 18 wickets in 16 matches at an average of 22. The economy has been only 6.40. His best performance has been 3 wickets for 13 runs. Talking about the overall IPL career, he has taken 36 wickets in 30 matches. His best performance has been 5 wickets for 20 runs.
