IPL 2022 Coach Ricky Ponting: Kuldeep Yadav did not get the opportunities he should get in KKR

Kuldeep Yadav’s performance in IPL 2022 has been very good. Playing for Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep is looking a completely different player as compared to last season. Kuldeep was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the last few seasons. But due to limited opportunities, his IPL career was also under threat.

However, Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting feels that spinner Kuldeep Yadav did not get many opportunities when he was part of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Ponting also praised Yadav and said that he is one of the leading spinners of IPL and is playing for his country.

Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Delhi Capitals by 16 runs in a thrilling match played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. Kuldeep Yadav performed well in this match, although proved to be expensive. But he did take the wicket of Glenn Maxwell, who had hit a fifty, and the captain also missed a catch from Dinesh Karthik in his over.

Ricky Ponting said, “Kuldeep has really thrived in the environment that we are creating around him. We were very much looking forward to taking him up for auction. Obviously a few seasons at KKR, in the presence of star spinners like Chakraborty, Naren and even Shakib, they didn’t get the chance they should have. He is one of the leading spinners of IPL and is playing for his country.
