IPL 2022: David Warner wrote a heartfelt note for his ‘old’ captain after Hyderabad’s defeat

New Delhi. David Warner’s 92 not out helped Delhi Capitals beat 2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad by 21 runs in a match of IPL 2022. This innings of Warner is being seen as his revenge against Hyderabad. Warner was in Sunrisers Hyderabad till last season. But due to the rift with the team management, he was captained first and then he was shown the way out of the playing-11 as well. Since then it was clear that Warner will not play for this team in IPL 2022. In this year’s mega auction, this batsman was added by Delhi Capitals and Warner proved this decision of Delhi right by playing an innings of 92 runs against his old team.

Warner’s years-old relationship with Sunrisers Hyderabad may have ended in bitterness, but his friendship with the team’s players is still deep. Shared an emotional post with his selfie with his former teammate and captain Kane Williamson after the match against Hyderabad. Warner wrote, ‘I am missing you brother…’ Former Sunrisers Hyderabad player Rashid Khan also reacted to this post of Warner. He also wrote, “I am also missing.”

Delhi Capitals also shared a video of these two players. In this, both were seen taking selfies. With this, Delhi Capitals wrote the caption- “Things you would love to see on the cricket ground.”

Powell-Warner pair heavy on Hyderabad

Batting first against Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals quickly lost the wickets of opener Mandeep Singh and Mitchell Marsh, who played at number three. After this, Warner took over the innings of Delhi and added an unbeaten 122 runs for the fourth wicket with Rovman Powell. Warner scored an unbeaten 92 in 58 balls and Powell scored 67 runs in 35 balls. Powell hit 6 sixes and 3 fours in his innings. Thanks to the partnership of Powell-Warner, Delhi scored a big score of 207 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Hyderabad’s team also did not have a good start and captain Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma were dismissed early.

After this, the innings of Nicholas Pooran (62) and Aiden Markram (42) also did not work for the team and Hyderabad could only manage 186 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets and lost the match by 21 runs.

I was a little tired… now I am getting old, know why David Warner said this

Who is Tristan Stubbs? Whom Mumbai Indians added in the middle tournament… Will you get this season? IPL Debut chance?
