IPL 2022: Dhoni’s fellow bowler increased the ‘josh’ of RCB in only 3 matches, guaranteed the team’s victory

New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore, which started with a defeat in IPL 2022, is now back on the winning track. RCB have won three out of the last 4 matches and the team’s victory has been guaranteed by a bowler, whose name is Josh Hazlewood. This Australian bowler has played only 3 matches so far this season. But in this he has filled his team RCB with enthusiasm. The team’s bowling has suddenly started showing sharpness and Hazlewood’s role is most important in this. He is bowling well in the powerplay as well as in the death overs. The proof of this is the three matches in which he landed. RCB won two of these and Hazlewood’s performance in both these matches was excellent.

He took 3 wickets for 28 runs in the match against Delhi Capitals, while Hazlewood became the hero of victory by taking four wickets in the last match against Lucknow Super Giants. This is also his best performance in IPL.

Josh Hazlewood played for Chennai Super Kings led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni in IPL 2021 and was also instrumental in helping CSK win the title for the fourth time. Then Hazlewood took 11 wickets in 9 matches at a strike rate of 19. However, Chennai Super Kings did not retain this bowler for IPL 2022 and RCB added this bowler to the mega auction for Rs 7.75 crore. Teams like Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians also placed bets in the auction to buy him. But in the end, RCB got success in buying Hazlewood.

He did not play in the initial matches of RCB due to being on the tour of Pakistan. But, since he has joined the team, the performance of RCB has become even better.

Hazlewood hunting every 7th ball
Hazlewood has taken a total of 8 wickets in 3 matches played in this season. But his average and strike rate is the best among the top-5 bowlers of this season except Yuzvendra Chahal. He is hunting every 7th ball this season. While the bowling average of 10.75, which is only slightly higher than the first-ranked Chahal’s bowling average of 10.35. Chahal is the highest wicket-taker in this season. He has taken 17 wickets in 6 matches so far.

Hazlewood bowling hard length
Hazlewood made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings 2 years ago. But in the first year he was able to take one wicket in only 3 matches. But in 2021 he bowled well and took 11 wickets. He is generally considered to be a Test bowler. He bowls consistently on the same length, which has benefited him in Test cricket. In IPL 2022, he is bowling on this hard length and by getting extra bounce from it, it remains a time for the batsmen.

He also bowled similarly in the powerplay against Lucknow Super Giants. RCB’s bowling attack has strengthened with his arrival. Because the team already has death over bowlers in the form of Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj and now Hazlewood’s experience and his tight bowler have increased the team’s strength.
