IPL 2022 Fan says Warner should captain SRH again AUS opener gives blunt 2-word reply – Latest Cricket News

Australia batsman David Warner was the Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup 2021 on the basis of his excellent performance. He played important innings in the semi-finals and final of the tournament. After failing to score runs in the warm-up matches, Warner managed to find his way into the main tournament. He scored a total of 289 runs in the tournament including a half-century in the final against New Zealand. However, before that his performance for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021 was disappointing. Warner was first stripped of the captaincy of the franchise due to poor form, while he was dropped from the playing XI during the second leg of the T20 tournament in the UAE. Meanwhile, the fan has demanded Sunrisers Hyderabad to retain Warner, to which the Australian opener has given a straightforward reply.

Fans are appealing to the owners of Sunrisers Hyderabad to retain David Warner with the team before IPL 2022 on social media. Warner, while replying to a fan on Instagram, indicated that the chances of him being in the Hyderabad team are slim now. One of the team’s fan pages posted, ‘Tom Moody Head Coach, Warner Captain.’ Responding to this comment, Warner wrote, ‘No thanks.’ Warner has been the only player in the IPL to have won the IPL Orange Cap thrice. He has won this cap all three times with Sunrisers Hyderabad.

However, it is not yet confirmed whether Warner will continue with Sunrisers Hyderabad or not. He is now likely to go to the mega auction of IPL 2022. Two new IPL teams can include Warner in their team. Warner faced 38 balls against New Zealand in the T20 World Cup and scored 53 runs with the help of four fours and three sixes. Warner, along with Mitchell Marsh, played an important partnership of 91 runs for the second wicket, on the basis of which Australia was successful in becoming T20 champions for the first time.
