When Ravindra Jadeja decided to leave the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings, all the veteran cricketers gave their opinion on this. Some praised this decision, while some did not like it at all. What former England cricketer Graeme Swann has now said about this is heart-wrenching. Just before IPL 2022, Mahendra Singh Dhoni had decided to step down from the captaincy and hand it over to Ravindra Jadeja. In the middle of the season, Jadeja handed the captaincy back to Dhoni.
Swann said that Jadeja’s decision is brave. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has also praised Jadeja’s decision. Swann said on Star Sports, ‘We all have some favorite team that we like to play against. CSK have done well against RCB in the past. It is a big deal for Jadeja that he has accepted that captaincy is not his thing.
He further said, ‘The mail ego inside you prevents you from saying this. So it’s a big deal for him to do that and give Dhoni back the captaincy. This is a good thing for CSK. On the other hand, Shastri said, ‘Jadeja’s saying that captaincy is not a big deal for me.’
