Ishan Kishan: Selling at a hefty price also creates unnecessary pressure on the player. This was the reason why Indian team’s current captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli advised Ishan Kishan, the most expensive seller in the IPL auction, not to worry about things that are not in their control. Ishaan himself has recently disclosed this fact.
Ishaan was sold the most expensive
Mumbai Indians bought Ishaan in the auction for a hefty price of Rs 15.25 crore. But this wicket-keeper batsman, who hails from Jharkhand, has not been able to perform according to him yet. He has scored only 321 runs in the current season of IPL so far. Ishaan admitted that hefty price pressure had built up on his mind for the first few days but his teammates from the Indian team advised him not to think about it.
Virat-Rohit gave this advice
Ishaan said before the match between Mumbai and CSK, ‘The pressure to buy at a hefty price will last for the first few days and when it is realized then it is beneficial to talk to senior teammates and tell them your problem.’ “Many seniors like Rohit (Sharma), Virat bhai (Virat Kohli) and Hardik bhai (Pandya) said that I should not think about the hefty price as I did not ask for this amount. If anyone believed (in me), then they did it (by bidding big).’
season is bad
Ishaan said, ‘Instead of thinking about the hefty price, it is important how I think about improving my game. Talking to seniors helped me as they all have gone through that phase. Ishaan said that captain Rohit and head coach Mahela Jayawardene had advised him to play his natural game. He said, ‘The captain and the coach asked me to play my (natural) game. Everyone has their own role in the team and my role is to give a good start to the team. If I can get to the crease, then I should avoid getting out for 30 and 40 and convert it into big scores.
