New Delhi. Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul said that their bowlers failed to follow the team’s strategy. Indian Premier League on Tuesday (IPL) Royal Challengers Bangalore to the team of Lucknow in a match of (RCB) defeated by 18 runs. In this match, RCB captain Du Plessis played the captaincy innings. Du Plessis played an innings of 96 runs in 64 balls to take his team’s score to 181 runs for six wickets. In response, Lucknow’s team could only score 163 runs for eight wickets.
“We could have done better because we knew what the wicket was like and which length to bowl,” Rahul said in a post-match press conference. We needed to stick to this strategy for a long time.” He said, “Sometimes we are not able to follow our strategy. We should have tried, the batsmen could not guess our balls. On a pitch like this, which is easy to guess, if we had bowled in the right areas, we could have taken two-three more wickets in the middle overs to put pressure on them.
Rahul, however, praised Du Plessis and termed his innings as one of the best captaincy innings. “It was not an easy wicket to bat on but he (Duplessi) handled the innings well. One of our top three or four batsmen needed to play that kind of innings. He played an excellent innings. It was one of the best captaincy innings.
